Wrapping Up 2021

2021 has been a hell of a year.

It was a year of incredible highs and unbelievable lows across every industry.

We saw another Astroworld tragedy, mourned the loss of fashion and music icon Vigil Abloh, Britney Spears beat her toxic conservatorship in a gruesome battle, we’re still living with the pandemic, the US got another president, Australian floods and fires, Jeff Benzos stepped down as CEO of Amazon, Megan Markle and Harry called out the Royal family as racist, Beyonce broke the record for most Grammys won by a singer, Adele released ‘30’, Kanye released ‘DONDA’, Drake released ‘Certified Lover Boy’, Olivia Rodrigo released ‘Sour’, Tyler, the Creator released ‘Call Me if You Get Lost’, Nicki Minaj tweeted about vaccines making men impotent, Spider-Man: No Way Home received a 100% rotten tomatoes rating and SO MUCH MORE.

Ya’ll that isn’t even half of it, I could literally keep going but I won’t, we all lived it so it shouldn’t be anything new for you.

Not to mention all the ‘Top Moments’ articles that’ll come out in these last few weeks (I’ll even put a list of my favourite ones below).

For us here at Ego, it has been a huge year too.

Planning for the expo is both exhilarating and demanding. We signed deals, partnered up with the big leagues (Footlocker, RedBull, Collarts, AS Colour, Sneaker Doctor, Lifeline and more), did multiple site inspections and have a sold-out show with 60+ Australian streetwear brands on our hands.

Ego Expo 2022 will be featuring old talent, new talent, unreal activations, runways, basketball games and expert advice from leading brands and entrepreneurs.

This year was anything except easy to navigate, but in the end, we have to appreciate all of the lessons we’ve learned and the fun we’ve had along the way.

Continue taking every day as a new day, celebrating all of the successes, and keeping your head up during all of the difficult moments.

Here’s to more wins in 2022, staying safe, and bigger, better things!

P.S Here is the list I’ve created filled with the best of 2021:
